Apple Almost Bought Kinect Technology

The biggest buzz in technology news today is the news that Apple almost bought an Israeli company whose technology now powers Microsoft Kinect,

The technology was demoed to Apple's Leander Kahney on an aeroplane flight by Inon Beracha, CEO of Israeli company PrimeSense, which had developed a low-cost chip and software for 3D machine vision. Berach was charged with finding partners in America for the revolutionary motion technology.

Beracha turned down Apple due to its bureaucracy and codes of secrecy. The rest is history. Microsoft seems set to score heavily with this technology through its Kinect controller.

However, there has to be competition in technology for us to get the best products. Apple couldn't have it all, so maybe it has worked out for the best. Apple is doing very well in the tablet market with the iPad. Kudos to Microsoft for giving us such a great use for the Kinect  technology. Kids and adults alike will get more exercise and become healthier.

Can you imagine Apple having the kinect technology? Everything worked out for the best result, although I would be selling more iPad accessories. :)
